WORDBANK REVIEW ( WEEK 4 )

News:

1) Husband of Singaporean hostage Lo Hwei Yen killed in the Mumbai attacks, Michael
Puhaindran gave an insight into the 28 year old.

I think her husband is doing the right thing as the brave singaporean faced many
fearful moments being a hostage, yet, cared to call her husband and tell him that she loved him very much and send an email to her family and friends that if she did not make it out there, she will always love them.

2) A 23 year old Chinese National, Wang Zhong, has been fined $19,000 for smuggling cigarettes through parcel post.

I think that fining him is a right thing to do because he had done an illegal act by smuggling cigarettes. In fact, they should not have invented cigarettes as it is bad for our health. The goverment had spent much money on promoting a smoke-free enviroment, too bad that the cigarettes has drugs that make the smoker addicted to it, making it a problem for promoting smoke-free enviroments.

Wordbank Review ( WEEK 3 )

News Review:

1) A man was killed in a clash between pro- and anti-goverment supporters in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai, shortly after the prime minister arrived in the the city.

I think the anti-goverment supporters were foolish to support for anti goverment. Without a goverment, the nation would be out of control as the goverments are the ones who makes the right choices for the nation to run smoothly. And they should not result to violence to solve this problem. They should think about what they are doing as it is affecting tourists to think that Thailand is not a safe destination for a holiday after the anti-goverment took over Thailand's Airport. The police should also do something to stop this protest too.

2)6 men have been arrested for suspected invloement in loansharking activities, police conducted an islandwide operation on loanshark syndicates.

I think the six men were doing the wrong thing. They sholud not be loansharks. They know by doing this is against the law but they still wanted to be loansharks. They should not be loansharks and obey the law, by doing this they will notbe arrested. I also think that the police is doing the right thing to operate an islandwide operation on loanshark syndicates because the loansharks should be arrested after doing many illegal things like loaning money ilegally, beating people up and even drug trafficking.
