Wordbank Review ( WEEK 2)

News Review:

1)The Singapore Zoo is keeping its white tiger exhibit closed for a few more days to monitor the tiger's stress levels which were involved in last thursday's incident where a cleaner was eaten to death.

I think the zookeepers are doing the right thing by closing the exhibit and monitoring the tigers because the tigers may have stress and resulted by eating the cleaner and by closing the exhibit, the tigers will not harm anymore visitors or staff. The cleaner also should not have decide to commit suicide in the tigers exihibit as he had damaged the reputation of the Singapore Zoo by being eaten by the tigers which may cause some visitors to think that the Singapore Zoo is not a safe place to visit. Instead, he should be having the courage to live on his life and face the challenges in life.

2)On Febuary 22 next year, Singapore's first mass cycling event on public roads aims to attract 5,000 people. It will also be the first time an event will include both amateur and elite cyclists.

I think organising this event is a great way to promote a healthy living lifestyle. They are also including amateur cyclists which is a good thing because it is a chance for the amateur cyclists to practice long distance cycling. Also, organsing this event on public roads may cause traffic jams in some areas. I suggest they should cycle on speacially made pavements for the mass cycling event so it will not cause any traffic jams.

Dear Gera,

Great effort. Way to go.

1) Agree with you. Sometimes, when we slow down and think about our problems, they are not as bad as we think. When we face problem, it is important for us to confide in someone we trust and can help us positively.

2) Agree. Btw, what do you think can be done to prevent traffic jams on our roads during mass cycling event? Usually, the pavement is too narrow. Any ideas anyone? Hint: think of our road usage. When are the peak usage?
