Wordbank Review ( WEEK 2)

News Review:

1)The Singapore Zoo is keeping its white tiger exhibit closed for a few more days to monitor the tiger's stress levels which were involved in last thursday's incident where a cleaner was eaten to death.

I think the zookeepers are doing the right thing by closing the exhibit and monitoring the tigers because the tigers may have stress and resulted by eating the cleaner and by closing the exhibit, the tigers will not harm anymore visitors or staff. The cleaner also should not have decide to commit suicide in the tigers exihibit as he had damaged the reputation of the Singapore Zoo by being eaten by the tigers which may cause some visitors to think that the Singapore Zoo is not a safe place to visit. Instead, he should be having the courage to live on his life and face the challenges in life.

2)On Febuary 22 next year, Singapore's first mass cycling event on public roads aims to attract 5,000 people. It will also be the first time an event will include both amateur and elite cyclists.

I think organising this event is a great way to promote a healthy living lifestyle. They are also including amateur cyclists which is a good thing because it is a chance for the amateur cyclists to practice long distance cycling. Also, organsing this event on public roads may cause traffic jams in some areas. I suggest they should cycle on speacially made pavements for the mass cycling event so it will not cause any traffic jams.

Wordbank Review ( WEEK 1)

News Review:
1) Ex-PAP branch treasurer, Peter Lee Yoke Leong, has been jailed for embezzling more than $78,000. He was supposed to bank in the money into the Kampong Ubi-Kembangan account, but he pocketed the money instead.

I think that he should not have done that because it was not honest of him to do that and furthermore, he was a PAP member too. By doing this, he had betrayed the members of PAP. He should have bank in the money and be honest, by doing that, he will not get jailed. This crime had affected me, my family and my community as we had lost our trust between Peter Lee and us for being PAP's branch treasurer. I think he should be jailed as embezzling is against the law.

2) World News: Ottawa
More than 1,ooo students at Toronto School were locked in their classrooms on Tuesday as scores of police searched for an assailant who stabbed a 16 year old boy. Fortunately, the boy survived by the help of his classmates who managed to call the ambulance in time.

I think it was wrong for the assailant to stab the young boy as it may kill him. The assailant should have not resort to violence and calmly talk things out if there is a fight happening between the young boy and him. Meanwhile, the young boy's classmates had done the right thing by helping to call the ambulance. By doing this, they had saved the young boy's life.
